Canine Leave Paw Prints On Our Hearts Ceaselessly

Anybody who has been owned by a dog knows these words. A truer good friend cannot be discovered, and we learn the meaning of unconditional love. The journey isn't with out ache, and at the shut of a lovely dream they go away us for their earthly activity is done. One extremely spirited Airedale mix canine who lived most of his life at our no-kill shelter gave everyone his perspective on life's easy pleasures and has now left lasting paw prints on our hearts.

His greatest pleasure was to Play Ball which every new volunteer carried out during orientation. Once this was achieved, he was your buddy perpetually! His attentive eyes and pleased barks greeted us every morning as he anxiously waited to see who can be the pitcher that day - he was ALWAYS the catcher!

If no one was obtainable instantly, he grew to become a "one canine staff" and barked excitedly on the many balls of varied measurement and coloration housed in his run pushing them round together with his nose. His enthusiasm soared when someone took him for a stroll, gave him a belly rub, or offered a butter cookie. This was his residence, and he was cherished unconditionally only for being himself.

We wished he would keep forever. The light signs of outdated age had been there, however his love of life knew no boundaries. Throughout a bleak January evening following a brief sickness his journey carried him to a spot we could not follow. Once again he is a young dog racing by wonderful fields full of angels ready to throw balls for eternity. He introduced happiness to our lives and would ask us to provide that very same companionship to other homeless dogs for the legacy he leaves to his memory.

Goodbye, Scruffy, and thank you for sharing your love, devotion, and many great moments in your too brief life. We beloved you daily you had been with us, and will miss you for the rest of our lives ..... until you greet us again at Rainbow Bridge.
